We’ve included some of our most popular and widely used everyday construction and hard landscape materials – if you live locally, you can get any of these delivered for just £45 in normal bulk bags, and £55 in “jumbo” bulk bags.
- Sharp Sand – Extracted from a local quarry, this product is graded 0.4mm and is used for screeds, concrete, rendering, laying slabs and in block paving applications. Also known as grit sand or concreting sand.
- Primary Shingle – We keep regular stock of 4/10mm and 10/20mm primary limestone as well flint gravel in our yard in Grantham. Made from natural stone taken from deposits in the ground, sea, rivers or crushed from quarry won material. Used for road and pathway surfacing, drainage and for bedding pipes. It can be blended to make concrete and sometimes shingles are used in landscaping or driveways to be to provide a decorative finish.
- Ballast – A mixture of sand and gravel used to make concrete. Grains/stones vary from 0.1mm to 20mm and is produced using a mixture of sharp sand and 4-20mm pea shingle. Used in construction and landscaping to make paths, edgings, outdoor facility bases, fence post footings and mixing into concrete.
- Cotswold Buff Chippings – A natural oolitic limestone that we stock in both 4/10mm and 10/20mm grades. It can be used as a decorative stone in garden borders, for paths, patios, driveways, around water features and other landscaping applications. This material retains moisture really well, so it can also be used as a drainage or bedding material however it will take on a darker colour when wet.
- MOT1 Limestone – a crushed aggregate material used to provide a stable sub-base for road surfaces and pathways.
